A shocking crime has come to light from Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district, where a woman working at a spa in Thiruvalla was allegedly gang-raped by a group of six men. The incident reportedly occurred after the spa management refused to pay an extortion demand. Police have confirmed that two accused have been detained so far, while efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects.
According to police sources, the accused had allegedly been demanding money from the spa owner in the name of “goonda tax” for some time. When the owner refused to comply with the demand, the attackers allegedly targeted the spa and assaulted the woman employee.

Investigators revealed that the accused allegedly recorded videos and took photographs during the assault, further aggravating the seriousness of the crime. The police have seized digital evidence and are conducting a detailed forensic examination as part of the investigation.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including gang rape, criminal intimidation, and extortion. Police officials stated that one of the accused has a prior criminal record and had earlier been booked under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAAPA).
A special investigation team has been formed to track down the remaining accused, who are currently absconding. Authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken against all those involved.

The survivor has been provided immediate medical treatment and counselling. Her statement has been recorded before a magistrate, and officials have reiterated that her identity will be protected in accordance with the law.
