Vision Centers: A Key to Building a Vision-Defect-Free Nation!

National Workshop Concludes with Great Enthusiasm

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Correspondent): Vision Centers are being established to provide rural populations with access to local eye check-up facilities, enable early diagnosis of emerging eye conditions, and ensure smooth surgical processes at hospitals. These centers are expected to play a vital role in reducing the increasing number of patients day by day and in transforming India into a vision-defect-free nation. This was the belief expressed by experts at the national workshop.

The national workshop, organized at the Lions Eye Hospital in CIDCO, concluded on Sunday (Dec 22) with great enthusiasm. Earlier in the morning, the inauguration of the Lions Vision Center at Waluj was conducted by former International Director of Lions Club, Mr. G.S. Hora. The event witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries, including Dr. Naval Malu, Mr. Mathangopal, Mr. Vinod Chaudhary, Mr. B.S. Rajpal, Mr. Ramesh Pokarna, Lions Deputy District Governor Rahul Ausekar, Regional Chairperson Sanjeevkumar Gupta, Mr. Gajanan Zhalwar, Mr. Kalyan Waghmare, Mr. Rajkumar Tibdewala, Mr. Jaykumar Thanvi, Mr. P.C. Gothi, Dr. Surajsingh Bais, and Dr. Pritesh Sonar.

During the event, Mr. Mathangopal shared insights on the hospitals, training centers, and surgical programs for eye patients being supported at the national and international levels through L.C.I.F. Mr. G.S. Hora explained the benefits and operational methods of the Vision Centers established through Lions Eye Hospital in Siliguri, which have significantly benefited rural communities.

The workshop also featured speeches by Dr. Naval Malu, Mr. B.S. Rajpal, and Mr. Ramesh Pokarna. The event began with a welcome speech by Mr. Vinod Chaudhary, while Dr. Ashwini Jaiswal expertly hosted the program.
