UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 Results Declared: Anuj Agnihotri Secures All India Rank 1

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially declared the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 final results on March 6, 2026. The UPSC Civil Services Examination is considered one of the most prestigious and challenging competitive examinations in India, conducted annually to recruit officers for top administrative positions in the Government of India.

This year, Anuj Agnihotri secured All India Rank (AIR) 1, emerging as the topper of the examination. Rajeshwari Suve M secured AIR 2, while Akansh Dhull achieved AIR 3 in the final merit list released by UPSC.

Total Candidates Recommended for Appointment

The Union Public Service Commission has recommended 958 candidates for appointment to various prestigious services of the Government of India.

The selected candidates will be allocated to services such as:

  • Indian Administrative Service (IAS)
  • Indian Police Service (IPS)
  • Indian Foreign Service (IFS)
  • Central Civil Services (Group A and Group B)

According to UPSC, 348 candidates have been provisionally recommended, while the results of two candidates are currently withheld pending verification.

Anuj Agnihotri, who secured the top rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025, is originally from Rajasthan.

Before securing AIR 1 in the UPSC examination, Anuj Agnihotri was reportedly serving in the DANICS (Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service), a Group-B administrative service.

UPSC Civil Services Examination: Selection Process

The Civil Services Examination is conducted in three stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination – Objective type screening test
  2. Main Examination – Descriptive written examination

The final merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the UPSC Mains Examination and the Interview (Personality Test).
