Bengaluru, October 18, 2026: India and West Indies shared their five-match T20 International series 2–2 after rain forced the abandonment of Saturday’s deciding match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The fixture had been reduced to nine overs a side.
India reached 118/5 before rain stopped play
West Indies captain Shai Hope won the toss and elected to field. India raced to 118 for five in 7.4 overs before persistent rain prevented further play. Ishan Kishan scored 30 from 10 balls and Naman Dhir hit 24 from six deliveries. The match was declared a no-result because the required overs could not be completed.
Why the series finished 2–2
Both teams entered the fifth T20I with two wins apiece. West Indies captain Shai Hope scored 261 runs in four innings and was named Player of the Series. Keemo Paul took eight wickets in three games, according to the International Cricket Council.
What the result means
The washout preserved India’s unbeaten home bilateral T20I series run since 2019. West Indies remain without a bilateral T20I series win in India since 2002. India’s next international assignment is a tour of New Zealand.
