A Wisconsin congressional race is drawing increased national attention ahead of the 2026 US midterm elections, with Democrat Mitchell Berman challenging Republican incumbent Bryan Steil.
Associated Press reported that the district has been held by Republicans for more than three decades, although redistricting made it more competitive than in earlier cycles.
Economy and healthcare feature prominently
Berman has focused his campaign on economic pressures, healthcare costs and fuel prices. Steil has emphasized affordability policies and his alignment with President Donald Trump.
The race is one of many House contests being closely watched as parties prepare for the November midterms.
