China’s top diplomat Wang Yi has urged Japan to correct what Beijing described as erroneous statements and actions concerning Taiwan, adding another point of tension to China-Japan relations.
Wang made the remarks during a meeting with Takeshi Iwaya, president of the Japanese Association for the Promotion of International Trade, in Beijing. China’s diplomatic service said Wang also discussed historical issues and the political foundation of bilateral ties.
