China and the United States have released reciprocal lists of non-sensitive products worth about $30 billion each that are eligible for tariff reductions.
The Associated Press reports that the lists cover a wide range of products, while strategic sectors such as semiconductors and electric vehicles are excluded.
Consumer products dominate the lists
The US list includes agricultural products, personal-care goods, timber and medical equipment. China’s list includes products such as toys and household items.
The arrangement follows the recent meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump and is part of a broader effort to stabilize bilateral trade.
Strategic sectors remain outside the agreement
The tariff arrangement does not resolve all major economic disputes. Technology, advanced chips, electric vehicles and other strategically important areas remain subject to separate policy discussions.
