NAGPUR: Infrastructure specialists from India and abroad are gathering in Nagpur for ASID 2026, a two-day conference focused on the technologies and planning approaches shaping Asia’s next generation of major projects.
From bullet trains to net-zero construction
The October 3-4 programme covers bullet trains, mega bridges, tunnels, airports, metro systems, tall buildings and advanced construction materials. Sustainability, durability and carbon-neutral infrastructure are also central themes.
The Indian Concrete Institute’s Nagpur Centre is organising the event, with engineers, researchers, academics and government representatives participating. Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari is the chief guest.
Why Nagpur is a fitting venue
Nagpur itself is undergoing major transport and industrial change, including Metro expansion, highway connectivity and growth around MIHAN. Hosting a conference on future infrastructure therefore connects national technical debates with the city’s own development trajectory.
