BEIJING: China’s state-backed LOGINK logistics data platform has suffered a dramatic international retreat after years of US pressure, stalled foreign partnerships and domestic financial and legal problems, a Reuters investigation found.
From global logistics ambition to setback
LOGINK was designed to connect cargo, customs, port and transport data. US officials warned that such access could give Beijing insight into global commercial and potentially sensitive shipments, allegations Chinese representatives disputed.
Reuters found that overseas partnerships stalled, the platform left an international maritime association and its Wenzhou operations hub appeared abandoned. The retreat represents a setback in the broader US-China contest over maritime infrastructure and data.
