WASHINGTON: The White House is considering regulatory relief that could expand sales of red-dyed diesel as officials examine options for easing fuel costs amid supply disruptions.

Reuters reported that the administration is weighing the proposal as an alternative to a broader diesel export ban. Red-dyed diesel is generally intended for off-road uses and is subject to different tax treatment.
The discussions come as global energy markets remain volatile and U.S. consumers and businesses face higher fuel costs.
