संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा से पहले न्यूयॉर्क में आयोजित उच्च-स्तरीय शिखर सम्मेलन में फ्रांस के राष्ट्रपति इमैनुएल मैक्रॉन ने आधिकारिक रूप से फिलिस्तीन को स्वतंत्र राज्य के रूप में मान्यता देने की घोषणा की। साथ ही एन्डोरा, बेल्जियम, लक्ज़मबर्ग, माल्टा और मोनाको ने भी यही कदम उठाया। यह घोषणात्मक क्षण उन लाखों लोगों के लिए प्रतीकात्मक न्याय और मानवीय सम्मान का इशारा बन गया जो गाज़ा में बमबारी, बेघरपन और भूख के बीच जी रहे हैं।
