Asian Games 2026: Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav have secured India’s first quota place for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics through the mixed compound archery competition at Aichi-Nagoya.

The Indian pair defeated South Korea’s Park Jeong-yun and Choi Yonghee in a dramatic shoot-off. The result gives India an Olympic qualification place linked to the Asian continental quota for compound archery.

The achievement is significant because compound archery is not currently an Olympic medal discipline, but the qualification pathway gives Asian Games performances a direct link to the Los Angeles cycle through the event’s designated quota system.
