BEIJING, September 29, 2026: Chinese Premier Li Qiang has called for stronger workplace-safety measures and tighter prevention systems to reduce the risk of major accidents.
The call was reported by China’s government information service after the premier chaired a meeting focused on workplace safety.
Risk prevention
The government has emphasized identifying hazards before they result in serious incidents, particularly in industries and locations where accidents can have large consequences.
Officials were urged to strengthen responsibility systems, improve inspections and address safety problems in a timely manner.
Industrial safety
Workplace safety is particularly important as China continues major infrastructure construction and industrial expansion. Construction, manufacturing, mining and transportation all require ongoing safety oversight.
