High blood pressure is one of the major modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular disease, yet many people may not know they have it. Regular measurement is therefore an important part of preventive health.
Why blood pressure deserves attention
Persistently raised blood pressure can increase cardiovascular risk. WHO identifies raised blood pressure as an important intermediate risk factor linked with heart attack, stroke and other complications.
