US stocks ended slightly lower on September 29 as Treasury yields remained elevated and investors awaited fresh inflation and labor-market data.
Reuters reporting carried by MarketScreener said the S&P 500 fell 0.17%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.26% and the Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.09%.
Interest rates remain central
Investors are watching Federal Reserve officials and incoming economic data for clues about the future path of interest rates. Higher bond yields can affect equity valuations by increasing the relative attractiveness of fixed-income assets and raising financing costs.
