Associated Press reported that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the National Security Agency and other military capabilities would use available resources to protect election systems from foreign influence and cyber threats.

Election equipment has been designated critical infrastructure since 2017, and federal cybersecurity assistance has been used by election officials during previous election cycles.
