Jalna | NewsNation Online: Celebrating the spirit of Shardiya Navratri, the Maharashtra Agrawal Youth Wing of the International Vaish Federation has undertaken an initiative to recognise accomplished women who have made meaningful contributions across different fields. The programme seeks to celebrate women’s achievements and inspire younger generations through examples of leadership and public service.
On the second day of Navratri, Jalna District Collector Ashima Mittal (IAS) was felicitated with a floral bouquet by Maharashtra Agrawal Youth Wing State President Shlok Agrawal and Advocate Mahesh Dhannawat.
Why the second day of Navratri matters
The second day of Navratri is dedicated to Goddess Brahmacharini, a symbol of perseverance, discipline, sacrifice and hard work. The organisers drew a parallel between these values and the commitment of women serving in public administration.
Shlok Agrawal on celebrating women’s achievements
Shlok Agrawal said, “Navratri is not merely a nine-day religious festival. It is a celebration of women’s strength, sacrifice and achievements. Women today are not only managing their homes but also capably leading districts, states and the nation. Since taking charge, Collector Ashima Mittal has provided direction to the administration with sensitivity and dynamism and worked towards effective implementation of public welfare schemes. Her work is truly commendable and serves as a guiding light for society, especially the younger generation. Through her leadership, we see the real strength of women in positions of responsibility. Expressing gratitude towards such inspiring personalities is a social responsibility of the younger generation. The main objective of our ‘Celebrating Women’s Strength’ initiative is to salute nine accomplished women from nine different fields over the nine days of Navratri.”
Advocate Mahesh Dhannawat praises the Collector
Advocate Mahesh Dhannawat said, “We, the people of Jalna, are truly fortunate to have such a dedicated District Collector, whom we regard as goddess-like in her commitment to duty. Just as Goddess Durga protects her children, the Collector works tirelessly for the welfare of the people of Jalna district. The doors of her office are always open to ordinary citizens. Her administrative approach is not limited to files and procedures; it also reflects humanity and compassion. Having such a Collector is a matter of pride for Jalna. Honouring her is an honour to the women of the entire district.”
Collector expresses gratitude
Collector Ashima Mittal thanked the organisers for the felicitation and said that the recognition would inspire her to discharge her duties with greater responsibility. Members of the Agrawal Youth Wing contributed to organising the programme.
