Jalna: The Maharashtra Agrawal Youth Wing of the International Vaish Federation has launched a special Navratri initiative to honour women who have distinguished themselves in different fields. On the third day of Navratri, Jalna Municipal Corporation Commissioner Anjali Sharma was felicitated by state president Shlok Agrawal and youth leader Advocate Mahesh Dhannawat with a floral bouquet.
Why Goddess Chandraghanta?
The third day of Navratri is traditionally dedicated to Goddess Chandraghanta, associated with courage, peace, vigilance and justice. The organisers drew a symbolic parallel between these qualities and responsible public administration while honouring the commissioner.
Advocate Mahesh Dhannawat’s Statement
Advocate Mahesh Dhannawat said that Goddess Chandraghanta represents discipline and justice. He praised Commissioner Sharma’s approach to encroachments, cleanliness and administrative discipline, saying that her vigilance, ability to take firm decisions and sensitivity towards citizens made her a fitting choice for recognition on the third day of Navratri.
Shlok Agrawal Highlights Women’s Leadership
Shlok Agrawal said Navratri should be more than a religious observance: it should also celebrate accomplished women whose work inspires society. He credited Sharma with bringing a fresh vision and momentum to Jalna’s development and said women in challenging administrative roles inspire thousands of girls.
Agrawal explained that the youth wing aims to recognise nine inspiring women from nine different fields over the nine days of Navratri, spreading a message of women’s empowerment and respect for public service.
The felicitation forms part of a wider celebration of women’s achievements and leadership in Jalna.
