NAGOYA: India’s men’s volleyball team continued its strong start at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games with a 3-0 victory over Hong Kong China in Pool C.
The win was India’s second consecutive success in the competition and strengthened the team’s position in the pool standings.
India controlled the match across all three sets and completed a straight-set victory without allowing Hong Kong to force a deciding game. The result gives the Indian team valuable momentum as the group stage progresses.
Volleyball is one of several team sports where India is competing at the Asian Games, alongside hockey, cricket and other disciplines.
The Indian contingent has already collected medals across a range of individual and team events. Monday’s programme includes further opportunities in shooting, athletics and other sports.
The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games are being held from September 19 to October 4. Thousands of athletes from across Asia are competing in the Games.
