Deadly Catalonia Floods Kill Two as Torrential Rain Disrupts Barcelona Region

Barcelona: At least two people have died and another was reported missing after torrential rain and severe flooding struck Spain’s Catalonia region.

Authorities said one man died after a wall collapsed in Tordera, while another death was confirmed in Montornès del Vallès. Emergency crews were searching for a missing person in Pineda de Mar.

Transport and daily life disrupted

Homes and roads were flooded, vehicles were submerged and local train services were disrupted. Flights at Barcelona airport were also cancelled or delayed, while events and businesses were affected.

Catalan authorities issued a red alert and urged residents to limit movement as the exceptional weather system affected northeastern Spain.
