BANGKOK: Thailand is dealing with widespread flooding after heavy rainfall affected large parts of the country. Reuters reported on September 28 that about 580,000 homes had been affected and eight people had died.

Floodwaters in Bangkok began to ease, although some neighborhoods and major roads remained affected. Authorities continued response and drainage operations as residents dealt with the impact of the rainfall.

Travel and safety concerns

Residents and travelers in affected areas are being urged to follow local warnings and avoid flooded roads where possible. Conditions can change quickly when heavy rain continues.
