Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan Defence Pact Committee Meets in Riyadh

Riyadh: Senior officials from Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are meeting in Riyadh on October 5 as a strategic committee discusses regional security developments and efforts to institutionalise their defence cooperation.

Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defence Minister Yasar Guler and senior military leadership would participate alongside Saudi and Pakistani counterparts.

Regional tensions shape agenda

The talks come amid renewed fighting in Yemen and broader security tensions across the Middle East. Reuters reported that discussions are expected to address recent regional developments as well as the structure of the cooperation mechanism.

The meeting itself does not establish that the participants have agreed on any new military action; outcomes will depend on official announcements after the talks.
