Aurangabad Division Graduates’ Poll Heats Up as BJP-NCP Seat Question Triggers Mahayuti Tension

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra

CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: The political contest for the Aurangabad Division Graduates’ constituency has intensified after Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule indicated that the Mahayuti may follow a formula allowing the party that currently holds a seat to retain the alliance claim.

BJP aspirants watch NCP claim

The signal has caused unease among BJP leaders who had been preparing to contest the constituency. Sitting MLC Satish Chavan has already begun campaigning, while the formal candidate decision remains politically important for both BJP and NCP cadres.

The Election Commission has scheduled polling for October 23. Nomination activity is already accelerating, making the next phase crucial for alliance strategy and independent aspirants.

Why graduate constituencies are different

Legislative Council graduate constituencies have a specialised electorate and campaign structure. Registration, organisational networks and direct outreach to graduate voters can matter as much as conventional mass rallies.
