Brazil Lowers 2026 Growth Forecast to 2% as Services and Industry Weaken

Brasilia, September 28, 2026: Brazil’s government has lowered its 2026 economic growth forecast to 2% from 2.3%, citing weaker expectations for services and industrial output.

Growth outlook revised

The Economic Policy Secretariat of the Finance Ministry also reduced its 2027 GDP growth projection from 2.5% to 2.3%.

Agriculture provides support

Officials said a stronger outlook for agriculture was not enough to offset weaker expectations in other major parts of the economy.
