Ranthambore National Park adds a wildlife experience to the Maharajas’ Express Treasures of India itinerary. The official programme schedules a game drive after the train reaches Sawai Madhopur.
From royal hunting ground to national park
The official itinerary notes Ranthambore’s historic association with Jaipur’s royalty and its present role as a protected wildlife landscape. The park is known for Bengal tigers as well as species such as sambar, chital, nilgai, wild boar, sloth bears and leopards.
Tiger sightings are not guaranteed
Wildlife viewing depends on natural conditions and animal movement. A safari can offer opportunities for sightings, but no responsible itinerary can guarantee that a tiger will appear.
Where it fits in the train journey
On Treasures of India, Ranthambore comes after Agra and before Jaipur. The train continues toward Jaipur after the safari, keeping the wildlife stop integrated into the four-day rail itinerary.
What travellers should remember
Safari conditions can vary with weather, park regulations and operational requirements. Travellers should follow the instructions of park authorities and their tour team.
