Google Trends Reveals 2026 Home Decor Trends: Art Deco, Chrome, Greige and Vintage Make a Comeback

Home Decoration Style

Home décor is taking a bold turn in 2026. New U.S. Google Trends data shows Americans are increasingly searching for expressive interiors, metallic furniture, warmer neutrals, tactile fabrics and vintage pieces. Art Deco has reached a 10-year high, while searches for chrome furniture, greige, limewash, bouclé and vintage décor are also rising sharply.

Art Deco Returns to the Spotlight

According to the September 2, 2026 Google Trends Daily Trending data, search interest in “art deco” has reached a 10-year high. The renewed interest goes beyond interiors, with related searches including “art deco watch,” “art deco building” and “art deco necklace.”

The trend is particularly visible in bathrooms. Searches for “art deco bathroom accessories” are up 150% since the beginning of the year, while searches for “art deco toilet” have nearly doubled, according to the Trends data.

The resurgence also reflects a broader design movement toward stronger geometry, reflective surfaces, rich colors and decorative details. Design coverage in 2026 has similarly highlighted the emergence of contemporary “Neo Deco,” which combines Art Deco influences with modern materials and more comfortable silhouettes.

Chrome Furniture Is Having a Major Moment

Chrome is another major winner in this year’s search data. Google Trends reports that interest in chrome furniture has more than doubled in 2026. Searches for “chrome bed frame” have increased by about 400%, while chrome TV stands, bookshelves and coffee tables are also trending.

Smaller decorative pieces are benefiting too. Searches for “chrome vase” and “chrome table lamp” have roughly doubled this year, suggesting that homeowners are experimenting with metallic accents without necessarily replacing all their furniture.

Teal and Magenta Lead Wall Paint Searches

Neutral walls are not disappearing, but 2026 search behavior shows growing appetite for stronger color. Teal and magenta are the top trending wall paint colors so far this year, according to the Google Trends newsletter.

At the same time, homeowners are searching for practical painting advice. Searches for “is ceiling paint different from wall paint” and “do you paint ceiling or walls first” are both up 300% over the past month.

Evolving Neutrals: Beige, Greige and Limewash

The next phase of neutral decorating is proving more nuanced than plain beige. The top trending beige search is “neon beige color,” up 400% this year. Search interest in “warm greige paint colors” has climbed 110%, while “greige couch” and “greige wallpaper” have become breakout searches.

Limewash is also gaining attention. Searches for “limewash paint” are up 140%, with black the top trending limewash color followed by beige.

Texture is becoming just as important as color. Searches for bouclé furniture are up 700%, while “boucle couch cover” has increased 160% this year.

Vintage Décor Enters a Restoration Renaissance

Vintage is also enjoying a strong revival. Google Trends says “vintage” is being searched more than ever this year, with “vintage braided rugs” and “vintage wood coffee table” ranking among the top trending vintage home-furnishing searches.

Interest is not limited to buying old pieces. Searches for “how to polish wood furniture” are up 450%, while “upcycled furniture near me” has become a breakout search in the past month. That points to growing interest in restoring, reusing and giving older furniture a new life.

Other breakout searches include “antique treasure chest” and “antique hardware near me.” “Vintage footstool,” “vintage wall clocks for sale,” “vintage metal chairs” and “vintage placemats” are also gaining momentum.

Searches for vintage bookshelves have doubled in the past month, while “vintage wall art” is up 170%.

Rattan, Leather and Pink Add Personality

Not every trend is about a complete makeover. “Rattan accent chairs” is the top trending accent home-furnishing search, while “leather arm chair” and “pink couch” are among related trending items. The pattern suggests homeowners are using individual statement pieces to introduce personality into otherwise restrained rooms.

What These Trends Say About Home Design in 2026

Taken together, the Google Trends data points to a move away from overly uniform interiors. Homeowners appear increasingly interested in contrast: vintage beside contemporary, soft neutrals with saturated colors, natural textures alongside chrome and polished surfaces, and practical restoration rather than constant replacement.

For readers looking for inspiration, the shift does not necessarily mean an expensive renovation. A chrome lamp, vintage wall art, bouclé chair, Art Deco mirror or freshly painted accent wall can introduce a new direction without redesigning an entire room.

Google Trends Data: What Readers Should Know

The figures in this report come from the Google Trends Daily Trending newsletter dated September 2, 2026. The newsletter states that the data is based on U.S. searches unless otherwise specified and reflects information available at the time of publication. Google defines “breakout” searches as terms experiencing a tremendous increase, sometimes because they are new and had few or no previous searches.

Readers can explore the latest search data through Google Trends. For more home-design inspiration, see NewsNationOnline’s earlier guide on how home decoration style reflects personality.

Bottom line: Art Deco glamour, chrome furniture, expressive wall colors, warm greige, tactile bouclé and restored vintage pieces are among the strongest home décor search trends of 2026.
