Los Angeles: DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island brings Filipino folklore to the big screen with a fantasy adventure about two best friends transported to a mysterious world.
A story built around folklore
The film follows friends who are transported to a fantastical realm that feeds on their memories. They must find a way to escape while protecting the bond that connects them.
Oscar-winning singer H.E.R. voices one of the film’s lead characters. The project draws inspiration from Filipino folklore and creatures that featured in stories told across generations.
New animated adventure
Forgotten Island arrives in cinemas on September 25, 2026, adding a family-oriented animated title to the weekend’s Hollywood releases.
