HCLTech Q2 FY27 Results: Profit Rises 21% to ₹5,132 Crore as AI Revenue Surges

Computer-generated English audio

New Delhi, October 13, 2026: HCLTech reported a 21.2% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹5,132 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, while rupee revenue increased 11.5% to ₹35,620 crore. The results show improving profitability and growing demand for advanced AI services, although the company remains cautious about the wider technology spending environment.

HCLTech Q2 FY27: key numbers

  • Consolidated net profit: ₹5,132 crore, up 21.2% year on year.
  • Revenue: ₹35,620 crore, up 11.5% year on year.
  • EBIT margin: 18.2%, an improvement of 131 basis points from the previous quarter.
  • New deal bookings: $3.258 billion.
  • Advanced AI revenue: $219 million for the quarter, up 28.4% sequentially in constant currency.
  • Interim dividend: ₹12 per share.

The figures were disclosed in HCLTech’s official investor-relations materials. Revenue reported in US dollars reached $3.724 billion, up 2.2% year on year; this differs from the rupee growth rate because of currency movements and reporting bases.

Why AI matters to the results

HCLTech’s advanced AI business generated $219 million during the quarter. Annualizing that quarterly figure gives approximately $876 million, but this is a run-rate measure, not $876 million of revenue earned in a single quarter. The company reported 78% year-on-year growth in advanced AI revenue in constant currency.

Its October 12 announcement of a partnership with Anthropic adds another dimension to the strategy. HCLTech said the collaboration will focus on enterprise adoption of governed agentic AI, with attention to safety, cybersecurity and deployment controls. The agreement is a strategic initiative rather than a guarantee of future revenue.

Deals and profitability

New contract bookings totaled $3.258 billion, providing a measure of potential future business. HCLTech said its operating margin improved to 18.2%. Investors should distinguish new bookings from recognized quarterly revenue: signed contracts can translate into revenue over multiple periods and remain subject to delivery schedules.

FY27 outlook remains measured

The company expects constant-currency revenue growth of 2.5% to 4.0% for the full financial year, while its services revenue growth outlook is 3.0% to 4.0%. Its EBIT margin guidance is 17.5% to 18.5%. This guidance reflects management expectations and may change with demand, currency and execution conditions.

What investors and employees should watch

The next questions are whether AI demand can sustain growth, how large deals translate into recognized revenue, and whether margins hold as the company invests in new capabilities and staff. Technology buyers are increasingly seeking measurable productivity improvements, which can affect how IT service providers price projects.

Shares reacted positively to the earnings announcement on October 13, according to Reuters market reporting, although intraday price moves are not a forecast of future returns.
