US-Canada Trade Tensions Rise With New Import Restrictions

WASHINGTON: Trade tensions between the United States and Canada have increased after a new U.S. restriction on Canadian imports took effect.

The Associated Press reported that the measure covers nearly $1 billion in Canadian goods, including alcoholic beverages, dairy products and motorcycles.

The new restrictions are part of a wider dispute over tariffs and market access between two of the world’s largest trading partners.
