NAGOYA, Japan — Ishan Kishan produced one of the key batting performances of India’s Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games campaign by smashing an unbeaten 80 from 46 balls against Sri Lanka on October 1. His innings helped India reach 169 for seven before the bowlers dismissed Sri Lanka for 45, sending India into the men’s T20 gold-medal final against Pakistan.

Kishan anchors India’s innings

Kishan’s unbeaten score gave India a strong total on a difficult surface. The pitch had visible cracks and required batters to adapt their shot selection. Kishan’s ability to score quickly while remaining at the crease proved central to India’s total.

Young Vaibhav also impresses

Fifteen-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi contributed 38 on his Asian Games debut. His innings added momentum at the top and gave India a strong start before Kishan controlled the later stages.

Final against Pakistan

India will now meet Pakistan in the gold-medal match after Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in a rain-shortened semifinal. The final will bring together two South Asian rivals in one of the biggest cricket matches of the Games.

NewsNationOnline has been following India’s campaign through its Asian Games medal guide. Official competition information is available at Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
