India’s medal campaign at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 has now reached 19 medals: 2 gold, 8 silver and 9 bronze after Kamaljeet and Suruchi Inder Singh won the 10m air pistol mixed team title on September 25.
Second gold comes from shooting
Kamaljeet and Suruchi scored 484.6 in the final to beat South Korea and win India’s second gold medal of the Games. Their result also set a new Asian Games record, according to competition reports.
India’s gold medals
India’s first gold came from the women’s T20 cricket team, which defeated Sri Lanka in the final. The second arrived in shooting through Kamaljeet and Suruchi.
Sports contributing to India’s medal haul
Shooting has contributed the largest number of medals, while athletics, cricket, badminton, mixed martial arts, rowing, soft tennis, weightlifting and wushu have also placed Indian athletes on the podium.
More medals in contention
India has major medal opportunities across athletics and shooting, while its men’s and women’s kabaddi teams have entered the semifinals. Indian players are also progressing in table tennis and squash, while badminton, boxing and swimming remain active.
