Indian athlete Vithya Ramraj broke PT Usha’s 42-year-old national record in the women’s 400m hurdles at the 2026 Asian Games.

The Indian Express reported that Ramraj won bronze with a time of 54.75 seconds, bettering Usha’s 55.42-second national mark set in 1984.

The performance adds another landmark result to India’s athletics campaign at the continental Games.
