US Aircraft Carrier George H.W. Bush Arrives in Thailand After Months in Middle East

PHUKET: The US aircraft carrier George H.W. Bush has arrived off Thailand’s Phuket island with around 4,800 personnel aboard after months of deployment supporting American operations in the Middle East.

Carrier makes Asia-Pacific stop

The visit provides rest and recreation for the crew while also placing a major US naval asset in Southeast Asia after an extended Middle East deployment.

Aircraft-carrier movements are closely watched because they reflect both operational requirements and the global reach of US naval forces.

Thailand remains an important US partner

The stop also highlights longstanding defence ties between Washington and Bangkok. The visit comes at a time of heightened security concerns across several regions, from the Middle East to the Indo-Pacific.
