Nagpur Drought Update: Banks Asked Not to Recover Crop Loans From Farmers’ Homes

Banks and credit societies have been asked not to send employees to farmers’ homes for crop-loan recovery during the drought, according to Maharashtra revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.

A review said 265 talukas were facing drought conditions, while 43 had reached conditions warranting Trigger-2 measures. A factual crop assessment has been ordered, with a final report expected by October 25.
