What Class II means
FDA Class II recalls involve products that may cause temporary or medically reversible health problems, or for which the likelihood of serious health consequences is remote. This does not mean the recalled product should be consumed. As of October 28, public reports did not establish whether any illnesses were linked to this recall.
What consumers should do
Check the package identifiers carefully. Do not eat recalled butter; discard it or ask the retailer about returns or refunds. Anyone who becomes ill after consuming a potentially affected product should contact a healthcare professional. Consumers should consult the FDA recall and safety alerts and the FDA explanation of recall classes for official updates.
