India’s Dedicated Freight Corridors Drive Stronger Rail Cargo Growth

India’s 2,843-km dedicated freight corridor network is supporting stronger rail cargo growth, with coal, iron ore and other commodities driving higher loading.

Business Standard reported that the freight corridor network is now fully operational. Policy and tariff changes are also widening the cargo base.

The corridors are designed to separate heavy freight traffic from passenger routes, potentially improving logistics efficiency and railway capacity.
