Asian Games 2026 swimming: China’s 19-year-old Zhang Zhanshuo has made history by winning seven gold medals at a single edition of the Asian Games.

Zhang won four individual freestyle events — 200m, 400m, 800m and 1,500m — along with three relay titles. His 200m victory included an Asian record, while his 400m and 800m wins produced Games records.

The swimmer competed in eight events and won seven, equalling a long-standing mark for individual gold-medal success at one Asian Games while becoming the first swimmer to collect seven golds at a single edition.
