Asian Games 2026 preparation: The Sports Authority of India’s Bengaluru centre has introduced Japanese dishes into athletes’ diets to help Team India adapt to food available in Japan.

According to a PTI report carried by Rediff, the initiative was designed to reduce dietary adjustment problems during the Games. Japanese dishes were introduced gradually, with the menu expanding from high-tea items to foods such as sushi and ramen.

The approach reflects the wider sports-science effort surrounding India’s preparation for an international multi-sport event. Nutrition, recovery and familiarisation can become important practical issues when athletes compete away from home.
