Nagoya: India’s men’s hockey team continued its winning run at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 with an emphatic 8-2 victory over South Korea on Thursday.
India dominate South Korea
The defending champions controlled large portions of the match and recorded their third consecutive victory in Pool A. The result moved India closer to a place in the semifinals.
Dilpreet Singh scored twice and took his tournament tally to nine goals. Abhishek also scored twice, while captain Harmanpreet Singh, Rajinder Singh, Sukhjeet Singh and Shilanand Lakra added one goal each.
Best-ever Asian Games result against South Korea
Hockey India described the 8-2 victory as India’s best-ever result against South Korea in Asian Games history.
India’s title defence
India entered the Aichi-Nagoya Games as defending men’s hockey champions. The team’s strong start has kept it firmly in contention for another medal.
