Nagoya: India enjoyed a productive day at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026, adding medals across athletics, shooting, wushu and rowing as the competition entered its second week.
Seema Kumari wins historic athletics bronze
Seema Kumari won bronze in the women’s 10,000m, giving India its first medal in the event at the Asian Games in 16 years. She finished in 32:50.05.
Mixed 4x400m relay wins silver
India’s mixed 4x400m relay quartet of Poovamma Raju, Vishal Thennarasu, Vithya Ramraj and Manu TS won silver in 3:14.46. Bahrain took gold in a Games-record 3:12.87.
Shooting and rowing add medals
Anant Jeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal won bronze in mixed team skeet, India’s first medal in the category. Satnam Singh and Salman Khan also won bronze in men’s double sculls.
Wushu athlete Roshibina Devi added a silver medal in the women’s 60kg sanda event, continuing her strong Asian Games record.
India’s medal campaign continues
The medal performances have come across a wide range of sports, including cricket, shooting, badminton, rowing, wushu and athletics. More medal opportunities are scheduled as the Games continue through October 4.
