Spain has a large calendar of celebrations. Examples include Carnival, Easter traditions, the Fallas in Valencia, the April Fair in Seville, Sanfermines in Pamplona and local fiestas across the country.
Languages and Regional Identity
Castilian Spanish is the national official language, and several other languages have official status in particular autonomous communities, including Catalan, Galician, Basque and Valencian.
Art and Architecture
Spain’s heritage includes Roman remains, medieval cities, Islamic architecture, Gothic buildings, modernist architecture and major museums. UNESCO lists 50 properties in Spain on its World Heritage List.
