US Voters Sour on Both Parties Ahead of Midterms, AP-NORC Poll Finds

WASHINGTON: American voters are expressing deep frustration with both major political parties ahead of the November 3 midterm elections, according to a new Associated Press-NORC poll.

Issue preferences do not equal confidence

The poll found Democrats holding an advantage among registered voters on issues including cost of living and healthcare, but relatively few respondents believed either party was capable of solving major problems or focused on people like them.

The survey included 2,140 adults and was conducted from September 24 to 28. Polls measure opinion at a particular time and are not predictions of election outcomes.

Public frustration shapes campaign environment

The findings suggest the midterms are unfolding amid broader distrust of political institutions rather than simple enthusiasm for one side.
