Rupee Nears ₹96 Per Dollar as Oil Prices and Fed Expectations Ease Pressure

The Indian rupee is expected to open around ₹95.94-95.99 per dollar on September 30, with lower oil prices and reduced expectations of another US rate hike providing some relief.

Reuters reported that the currency had recently touched a two-month low near ₹96.15 before recovering.

Why the rupee is under pressure

High oil prices, US Treasury yields and weak portfolio flows have weighed on the currency. The RBI has been supporting the rupee using its foreign-exchange reserves.
