Asian Games 2026: India’s preparation for the Aichi-Nagoya Games involved ₹702.86 crore in spending through the Sports Ministry’s Annual Calendar for Training and Competition, according to government figures reported before the Games.

The expenditure covered areas including international competition exposure, domestic training, equipment, coaching and specialist support. A separate ₹97.84 crore was also reported through the Target Olympic Podium Scheme.

India’s contingent includes athletes across dozens of disciplines, supported by doctors, physiotherapists, sports scientists and other staff. The preparation model is designed not only for immediate Asian Games competition but also for longer-term athlete development.
