Nashik, Maharashtra: A 3.7-magnitude earthquake shook parts of Nashik district late on Friday night, triggering panic among residents who rushed out of their homes after feeling mild tremors. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake struck at 11:55:50 PM IST on July 25, 2026, with its epicentre located about 47 kilometres north-northwest (NNW) of Nashik at a shallow depth of 5 kilometres.

The shallow depth of the earthquake made the tremors noticeable across several parts of the district, although the magnitude was relatively low. Many residents reported feeling brief shaking, prompting them to move outdoors as a precaution.

No Casualties or Major Damage Reported

Officials confirmed that there were no immediate reports of casualties, injuries, or major structural damage. District authorities and disaster management teams are monitoring the situation and have urged citizens to remain calm while following official advisories.

Emergency services remained on alert throughout the night, and authorities stated that they are closely watching for any possible aftershocks.

Multiple Tremors Recorded in Nashik

The latest earthquake comes amid a series of mild tremors recorded in Nashik district over the past two days. Seismologists believe these low-intensity earthquakes indicate ongoing seismic activity in the region, although there is no immediate cause for panic.

Authorities have appealed to residents not to spread rumours on social media and to rely only on official information.
