China’s BeiDou satellite navigation system is expanding into a wider range of industries as positioning technology becomes increasingly connected with AI, automation and digital services.

Xinhua reported that BeiDou is being integrated into diverse sectors as technological convergence creates new applications.

From navigation to industrial services

Satellite navigation can support logistics, agriculture, transport, surveying, emergency response and industrial operations. Combining precise positioning with connected sensors and AI can allow systems to make faster decisions based on real-time information.

The development is part of China’s broader push to build domestic digital infrastructure and reduce dependence on foreign technology systems.
