Slovenia can be visited throughout the year, but the best period depends on whether you want hiking, lakes, city sightseeing, skiing or coastal travel.
Spring
Spring brings greener landscapes and generally milder conditions for cities, valleys and countryside. Mountain conditions can remain changeable.
Summer
Summer is popular for hiking, lakes, cycling, rafting and coastal travel. Popular destinations such as Bled can be busy.
Autumn
Autumn can be excellent for food, wine, forests and city sightseeing, with changing foliage and generally cooler conditions.
Winter
Winter supports skiing and snow activities in mountain resorts while Ljubljana and other cities offer museums and cultural attractions.
