Armenia is divided into ten provinces plus Yerevan, which has separate administrative status. Each area offers different landscapes and cultural attractions.

Yerevan

The capital is Armenia’s main urban centre and a practical base for day trips.

Kotayk

Kotayk includes Garni and Geghard and is one of the easiest regions to combine with Yerevan.

Gegharkunik

Gegharkunik is home to Lake Sevan and surrounding highland landscapes.

Tavush

Tavush is known for forests, Dilijan and mountain scenery.

Lori

Lori contains Haghpat and Sanahin and offers forested northern landscapes.

Vayots Dzor

Vayots Dzor is associated with Areni wine country, Noravank and mountain valleys.

Syunik

Syunik includes Tatev, Goris and dramatic southern landscapes.
